A whole lotta new!!

We have an exciting day today – we are going to be changing over our website to point directly here at the blog so that you will come here for all your info, we just announced our Baby Bosley news, we have some new product announcements, one other announcement about the studio (see below!), and oh yeah – we are launching phase 1 of our other business – Care Hound.  (go check it out please!!)

So!  Let us explain our new products first – the idea is to simplify your life this year through holiday season.

Mini Shoots – a few of you have taken advantage of these shoots and they are awesome.  It is a 20 minute shoot on location and you get all the rights to the edited images.  This is perfect for scrapbookers, families that give pictures as Christmas gifts, if you like to make your own holiday cards, or if you just want to make sure that you get to keep all the images.  The fun part is that we get a lot of candid shots that you may not necessarily want to hang on the wall – but that you don’t want to let go of either.  Here is what one mom said about her mini shoot:

“Catherine,
Thank you SO much!  I love them and can’t stop looking at them : )  I can definitely pick out the ones that may have caused you to laugh out loud…he definitely isn’t afraid of showing the world how he is feeling… Thanks again so very much…I am so excited to print them out and use some that display his true personality on his birthday invitations.  So fun.”

The other option that we have this year for holiday cards is to buy an individual image for $20 so that you can use it to make your own.  This allows you to either create your own cards, or to use a site like tinyprints.com, paperculture.com,  or sugarandspicedesigns.com.  This is also available for birth announcements or invitations as well.

Last but definitely not least – we have an announcement to make about the studio.  We have decided to take the leap and close the studio down and turn our focus to on location shoots only. It has been something I have been wanting to do for a while now and so this is an exciting change for us.  Our strengths and talents really lie in natural light photography and it’s what I love so in order for me to feel that I am giving every client my very best – this is what I have felt I need to do.  If you do have a shoot scheduled that you were planning on using the studio for please email me and we can discuss – otherwise all shoots going forward will be on location!  Thanks for your support as we make this change!

As always – let me know if you have any questions or hop onto our online calendar to book an appointment!

Just one more…

…baby that is.

We are so very excited to be adding to our little family! We are expecting baby #4 in May!!

We sent the kids on a scavenger hunt with clues until they got up to the studio and found a basket full of baby stuff.  They have all been SO excited.  Shockingly Jackson wants it to be a girl – Maddie doesn’t care and Kobe wants another boy.  Time will tell!

The basket had a baby toy, the ultrasound picture, and a “Bosley 15” onesie (I’ve had shirts made like this for all the kids to wear to Kobe’s baseball games – want to make one of your own?  We are doing a giveaway this week at Carehound and you can win one!!)

The first clue was sent as a text to his phone – the rest were scattered around the house. (forgive my poor attempt at rhyming – I was sick and exhausted!)

This was Kobe’s face when he got it… and this is Madison just being weird like she always is. 🙂

Just adding to this crazy bunch!

We will be writing all about the pregnancy at the CareHound blog – so drop by there and check it out over the next 9 months!!

Pinkalicious!!

If you have a little girl and you haven’t read the book Pinkalicious – you are missing out!  Madison fell in love with this story about a little girl whose wildest dreams come true after eating too many pink cupcakes – and SHE turns pink! Last year Maddie and I drove up to Sioux City to watch the Pinkalicious musical and this year we were very excited to have it come to The Rose Theater.  We went with our friends and then out for pink ice cream afterwards. It was so fun to have such a girly night out with our little girls!

They were SO excited and very very silly on the way to the show!

Ali & Richard

I met Allison and her fiance Richard through her sister who is a client of mine.  We met downtown and did their engagement pictures. They are getting married out of town this Fall and I couldn’t be any happier for them. They are an amazing couple and I had an awesome morning getting to know them.  They actually made me wish that I was a wedding photographer just so I could be there on their big day.

I’m so happy for you two – you are such a genuine couple.  I wish you the very best on your wedding day and beyond!!

Madison’s prayer tonight

Maddie prays every night for us at dinner. Tonight this was her prayer – it melted me just a little so I had to share.

“Dear God, Thank you for letting me play with my beautiful family. And thank you for letting me get married with my daddy.  Amen.”

We had a wedding here tonight before dinner – vail, flowers (ripped straight out my front yard), a princess dress – the works.  She just told Jackson “I got married with Daddy and we kissded” Jackson said “ewww that’s gross!” and she said “I know but that is what you do when you get married.”

Sam

I got to see Sam every 3 months his first year of life – but now that he is a big boy it’s been cut down to twice a year – so I was super excited to see him the other night for his pictures!

We got a little hot, sweaty, and sandy   🙂
