Thank you so much for dropping by Bosley Creative! Whether you are looking for more info about photo shoots (check out the links above!), scoping out our pictures and what we have been up to, or just dropping by for a little creative inspiration - we are so happy that you are here! I am guessing you know that we take pictures here of soon to be mamas, brand new babies, crawling, squirmy bambinos, mischievous and precious toddlers, silly and sweet kiddos and families of all sizes and types! But let me tell you HOW we do it... We play, we run, we giggle, we get silly, sometimes we even cry and pout (well I don't usually...) and we soak up every bit of cuteness your little one brings to the table. Everything that is special and makes your kids and your family unique - we want to bring that out. Our goal has always been to capture real moments and real memories - we want to get to know your family and every thing that you adore about those kiddos and we want to freeze that bit of time into a picture that you can cherish for years and years to come. Sound like what you are looking for? Perfect! Let's get your photo shoot set up!

Why I have the style of photography that I do…

I was eight years old and in the “invention convention” at my elementary school. I beamed with pride as my litter box deodorizer took first place. It really was a brilliant idea and something I still remember as being a very cool experience. Along with those big moments were the more ordinary ones – the pretend “stage” my best friend and I had set up on my canopy bed, clothespins holding the sheets from the frilly white cover of the bed, and a reading light that we used as a spot light while pretending to be in a Kit-Kat commercial. And there was the miniature lady bug house we built making sure not to leave out any details as we built and stocked the house (cardboard box) full of chairs, monkey bars and really tiny television sets made out of wood. I’ll never forget the “fix it shop” I credit as being my first business that my brother and I set up in my dad’s workshop, complete with the coolest carbon copy receipt notebook you have ever seen. And of course – there is “Dead End Field” (which, you guessed it, was in the field at the dead end of our street) that housed a baseball diamond brought to life by the older brothers in our neighborhood who spent a summer mowing, raking, and building “dugouts”.

I know what you are thinking – “Wow, Catherine. You were really cool as a child.” And then most likely your second thought “Why in the world are you writing to hundreds of busy people about your child memoirs?” Hang tight, we are quickly approaching my point.

While these are all vivid childhood memories of mine, we don’t have any actual photographs to accompany them. Now, I don’t fault our parents – it was different then. Most people didn’t take pictures of every day events like we do now. And I am lucky, I have the long term memory of an elephant (that’s a good thing, right?). It’s most likely why my kid’s are constantly having their picture taken while they are sleeping, riding in a shopping cart, selling toys off the front porch, trading baseball cards, reading – you name it, I probably have a picture of it. I want to capture every moment so they don’t forget about this care free, proud to be who you are, carpe diem, time in their life.  I know I can’t be there for every moment for my clients, however, this is why I am so passionate about capturing the moments I see around me, and what drives me to have the style of photography that I have. As a lot of you know, my style is casual, laid back, and it’s intent is to capture real memories for you to cherish. This is why I don’t have posed sets at my shoots to just stick your child in. This is why I don’t spend my time changing out the backgrounds and props, and why I do spend my time chatting, playing, running, chasing and laughing with you and your kids. My goal is not to create a setting to make your family or your kids fit into – but my goal at every shoot is to bring out the best in your family whether we are at your home, our studio, or outside. When you look back at your pictures I want you remember those moments, those personalities: your daughter’s infectious laugh, your son’s ornery smile, the chubby elbows on your baby, or the smirk and stance of your teenager. I want to get to know your family, I want to capture who you are, and I want to grab a slice of time that you can hold onto forever.

Thank you for your business over these past six years. Thank you for your trust. Thank you for your referrals. And thank you for letting me share in your memories.

Mary Ann & CeCe

We had someone call us a few months ago looking to purchase a gift card so that their office could all pitch in and gift their boss a photo session with us! I was thrilled because I think that giving a photo shoot as a gift is such a personal and unique gift that is cherished much longer than most presents are. They got the gift card, presented it to the CEO of their company and even scheduled her appointment for her.  Mary Ann and her charismatic, sweet, and spirited little girl came in a few weeks ago and we had a blast! They were so fun and we got some really awesome images and as Mary Ann commented on one of their photos: “Wow, this really captures the essence of CeCe and me. I just love it. You are talented!!…”

Miss Charlotte

Charlotte and her mommy came to our studio the other day for her 1 year photos. “Contagious Joy” are 2 words that come to mind when I think of this sweet girl. She snuggled her mama right at first – not sure what to think of me, but quickly warmed up and was so much fun! Thanks so much for trusting me with her 1st year pictures!

Isn't this the best part of being a mommy? Getting to give out the snuggles that make them feel safe and loved?!

There was just something I loved about this picture. It was right before they left - she just looks so precious and comforted with her binky and sunglasses.
